Northern Powerhouse Initiative
Housing minister Esther McVey has said she wants the UK to become the “world leader” in modular building within the next decade. She added, “the government will create a construction and engineering centre of excellence in the North for modern methods of construction”.
With this in the mind of the government, investing in not only this technique but in businesses in the North, you are helping to secure jobs for families, skilled and unskilled workers during a time of uncertainty for the country.
“We should have that centre for construction and engineering excellence in the north. If you look at modular builders they are in the North-west, the North-east and Yorkshire. You could have an arc connecting where that investment is going.”
